The Dynamic Speaking Test takes a practical approach to assessing speaking ability, assessing different language registers, domains, CEFR levels and topics. It uses real-world speaking tasks.

Holistic view of speaking

Like an experienced human rater, the test delivers an overall speaking score by assessing subskills:

Crucially, the algorithm also evaluates task achievement. Can the test taker produce relevant responses that show they can communicate in the real world? This also ensures that no test taker can mislead the marking system with pre-prepared responses.
